Negative Space Art Journal Page

In today's video, I'm creating a cluster collage art journal page using a negative space technique I was inspired to try out that I discovered in a new book which was recent gift from Ian. Using a copy of an old photograph, some dictionary pages from an old book, some Tim Holtz “Thrift Shop” ephemera and a watercolour heart stamp from a Tim Holtz stamp set (CMS217) plus Barn Door red Distress Ink for the hearts.

The words you can see (behind the cut out figure above) are from the 1990s song “Missing” by Everything But The Girl which were printed out from my computer and the one phrase of “I miss you” picked out in red to stand out.

Although a lot of the projects & techniques in this book I’ll probably never use, there are quite a few which I know I’ll want to explore and try out for myself in my own style.
